The Chamber’s head office has finally been transformed into a bigger, better and brighter headquarters, measuring 17,000 square feet, after extensive renovations that began half a year ago. Previously, we utilized about three-quarters of the twenty-second floor of United Centre, but with the completion of our renovations, the entire floor has now become our base to serve members with a brand new look.

Many members, Consuls General and friends of the Chamber came to our headquarters to celebrate this new milestone with us at an official opening ceremony on 22 January.  Despite the rain, we had a full-house and were honoured to have Financial Secretary John Tsang officiate at the opening ceremony with Chairman YK Pang. They connected a giant USB device to represent the role that the Chamber has played in connecting businesses, entrepreneurs and governments, both locally and globally, for everyone’s benefit.

I hope that with the opening of our new headquarters, we will be able to fine tune our role as a business connector and also offer more services to members. The opening of the Chamber’s new headquarters marks a new milestone in our 155-year history. As the oldest business organization in Hong Kong, we are proud of the major achievements that the Chamber has accomplished over the years. As such, our new headquarters also features a History Wall, which shares some major milestones of the Chamber with members and visitors.

The renovations have enabled us to provide a more comfortable and spacious environment for members. The new public areas can also be used by members to network or meet with their business partners. Our meeting facilities have been upgraded so that we have more various sized rooms, in addition to a new expandable theatre that is double the previous size. We can now accommodate up to 200 people in the theatre, which is ideal for holding big events. Corporate members interested in renting the facilities can enjoy 30% off standard rates.

A major addition to the new head office is our eighth Certification Office, which provides a full range of business documentation services, including our ATA Carnet service that is only available at this new branch.

I am delighted that members are impressed by our new look, and I would like to thank our colleagues and members for their patience during the renovation period.
